For Jingzhou people, there is no need to find a swimming pool in summer, and the Yangtze River really has the function of cooling off the heat. Around seven or eight in the evening, it is the busiest time on the river bank. The man who just had dinner, with his wife and children, waddled down the uneven steps along the river bank and joined the ranks of paddling.
In my impression, men in Jingzhou are always topless, wearing only a pair of plaid or striped shorts, too lazy to wear socks, walking in a pair of flat slippers, sloppy, simple and clean. However, unlike Chongqing people, they are not angered by the midsummer sunshine. As long as you ask them the way, they will respond enthusiastically, just like your neighbors for many years.
Jingzhou is a prosperous and beautiful city and a famous cultural city with a long history. The city is surrounded by the most intact ancient city wall in the south of China, surrounded by a curved moat.
There are eight gates in Jingzhou, which are connected with the outside world through eight stone arch bridges. Among them, East Gate is the most beautiful place. The moat at the east gate is clear and bright, with blue waves and many cruise ships swaying in the river. Outside the moat is a spacious modern square, where the air is fresh and many people walk and dance here in the morning and evening. In the center of the square stands the "Phoenix" sculpture representing the symbol of Jingzhou ancient city, which is said to be the hometown of Phoenix.
There is a tree-lined path with clear slate between the city wall and the moat. In spring, peach blossoms are in full bloom and tourists are everywhere. In autumn, many wild chrysanthemums are in full bloom on both sides of the path, and the autumn wind blows gently and the countryside is fragrant.
