In 20 15, the European food safety agency drew a conclusion in the draft caffeine evaluation: it is safe for adults to consume no more than 400 mg of caffeine every day for a long time. For pregnant women, the safe intake per day is below 200 mg. For children and adolescents, the safe daily intake is 3 mg per kilogram of body weight. For example, a child weighing 20 kg has a safe intake of 60 mg per day. [ 1]
Judging from the above data, don't worry too much about the problem that drinking coke in moderation is harmful to your health! Because regulators around the world, including the European Food Safety Agency and the US Food and Drug Administration, unanimously recognized the safety of caffeine as a soda ingredient.
In other words, the content of caffeine in cola is safe. So how to grasp this degree? In 2003, scientists from the Canadian Health Bureau confirmed that the average adult's daily intake of caffeine below 400 mg would not have adverse effects on health. (Note: A can of 330ml cola soda contains 32mg of caffeine, which means that an adult will exceed the standard only if he drinks more than 12 cans of cola soda every day. )
Scientific and healthy eating habits should be moderate. Once we understand this iron law, we don't have to waste time worrying about the harm of drinking coke.
