Spouses of active servicemen should be citizens of People's Republic of China (PRC) who are politically reliable, ideologically progressive and have good conduct. Spouses of ships, aircrew and confidential personnel should also have no complicated social relations.
Servicemen may not marry foreign citizens, and in principle may not marry residents of Hongkong, Macao Special Administrative Region and Taiwan Province Province.
Servicemen are not allowed to marry China nationals living in foreign countries or Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan, or engage in or participate in activities that endanger national security or undermine the socialist construction of the country: in principle, they are not allowed to marry the immediate family members of the above-mentioned personnel. However, active servicemen may be allowed to marry people who have good relations in reality and have no political problems as appropriate.
Conscripts are not allowed to find objects in the army or at the station, and they are not allowed to get married during their active service.

"Several Provisions on Military Marriage Management" (implemented on 20211) Article 5 The age of marriage for military personnel shall not be earlier than 22 for men and 20 for women.
Conscripts are not allowed to apply for marriage during their active service, and students in military academies are not allowed to apply for marriage during their undergraduate and junior college studies.
