What are the symptoms of adenomyosis?

When endometrial glands and stroma invade the myometrium, it is called adenomyosis. In the past, it was called endogenous endometriosis, while non-muscular endometriosis was called exogenous endometriosis to show the difference. Most of them are 40-year-old multiparas, about half of them have hysteromyoma, and about 15% have endometriosis.

Etiology: Endometriosis in the myometrium of patients with adenomyosis is directly connected with the endometrium on the surface of uterine cavity, so it is generally believed that the trauma of uterine wall during multiple pregnancy and childbirth and chronic endometritis may be the main causes of this disease. In addition, due to the lack of submucosa under the basement membrane of endometrium, and adenomyosis often complicated with hysteromyoma and endometrial hyperplasia, some people think that the invasion of basement membrane into myoma may be related to high estrogen stimulation.

Clinical manifestations: the main manifestations are increased menstrual flow, prolonged menstrual period and progressive dysmenorrhea. Will affect fertility.
