Why is there a snake sign on the ambulance?

The symbol of the "snake" on the ambulance is actually "snake around the middle vein (spine)"-a medical symbol and emblem called "snake emblem", that is, the emblem of the snake. In the past, the sign on the ambulance in China was the red cross, followed by the white cross. Because this logo will be confused with the International Red Cross, in order to avoid confusion, the logo on our national ambulance was changed to the international version of the snake emblem. The first aid symbol "snake winding staff" is a western medical symbol, which originated from ancient Greek mythology. According to legend, when a doctor in ancient Greece traveled around the world to treat people, he always held a cane with a snake in his hand. Therefore, the snake emblem has now become a global medical symbol. In addition to the "snake around the staff", China's first aid sign also has a blue six-pointed star. The six corners of the six-pointed star symbolize on-the-way monitoring, off-site rescue, discovery, reporting and transfer to hospital for treatment. China first aid icon has richer connotation and greater significance.
