We should know that the impact factor is an index to measure a magazine, but it is not the only criterion to reflect the level of a magazine. Please don't pursue blindly.
Impact Factor (English: impact factor), referred to as IF, is a data in a periodical citation report produced by Thomson Reuters.
That is, the total number of citations of papers published by a journal in the first two years of the reporting year divided by the total number of papers published by the journal in these two years. This is an internationally accepted periodical evaluation index.
The impact factor has become a general index of periodical evaluation in the world. It is not only an index to measure the usefulness and exhibition of periodicals, but also an important index to measure the academic level of periodicals and even the quality of papers. The influence factor is a relative statistic.
Journals of different disciplines still have great differences in IF. Generally speaking, IF of chemistry journals is about 1.5 times that of physics, 2 times that of engineering and 3 times that of mathematics.
Of course, the IF of biology magazine is higher than that of chemistry magazine. Therefore, for different disciplines, the impact factors cannot be compared across disciplines, and the comparison of impact factors in the same field is more reasonable competition.
