Funding for women's disease screening and general treatment projects;

Improving women's health, especially paying attention to rural women's health, is an important content to realize "primary health care for all" and an important measure to measure social equity and progress. There are 343 million women of childbearing age in China, most of whom live in rural areas, while 80% of maternal and child health care resources in China are concentrated in cities. For a long time, restricted by economic conditions, traditional concepts and living habits, the incidence of cervical cancer and breast cancer affecting women's health has increased year by year. The incidence of female breast cancer in China is increasing at the rate of 3%-4% every year, and the incidence of cervical cancer accounts for 28.8% of the world, which is six times that of developed countries, and shows a trend of youthfulness. "Two cancers" not only threaten women's health and safety, but also affect the harmony between husband and wife and family happiness, which brings a heavy burden to the country and society.

In 2003, the Organizing Committee of China Health Poverty Alleviation Project (hereinafter referred to as the Organizing Committee), which belongs to the Foundation, began to pay attention to the health problems of rural women when carrying out related public welfare activities in rural areas, and listed them as the main contents of the large-scale public welfare activities of "China Health Poverty Alleviation Project". In 2004, the organizing committee organized an expert committee to investigate in rural areas of Anhui and other provinces, and designed a general treatment project for gynecological diseases. In 2005, Luzhai County, Guangxi Autonomous Region launched the pilot project for the first time and achieved success. In 2006, on the basis of expanding the scope of the pilot project, a public welfare activity model of "free screening, low-cost treatment and serious illness relief" was formed and popularized throughout the country. By the end of 2008, the general survey and treatment of gynecological diseases had been carried out in 237 counties (cities) in 24 provinces (autonomous regions).
