Data expansion

Medical assistance is the special help and support provided by the state and society to citizens who are unable to treat diseases because of poverty. Usually, under the leadership of the relevant government departments, the society participates extensively and implements medical institutions to restore the health of the sick people and maintain their basic viability.

It provides pre-medical assistance to groups with special difficulties (including urban subsistence allowances, rural subsistence allowances, rural five guarantees, urban poor workers and their family members), and subsidizes them to participate in urban residents' medical insurance or the new rural cooperative medical system respectively.
