Due to the large market demand, leek cultivation is also very common in China, and leek is also called "lazy dish", which is relatively easy to manage. Many people also have leeks in their own gardens.
In the process of planting leek, I believe many people have encountered the phenomenon of white spots on leek leaves. What exactly is the problem? How to deal with it? Let's get to know each other.
What is the problem with white spots on leek leaves?
It may be the result of botrytis cinerea.
Grey mold of leek is a common disease in the process of planting leek, which mainly harms the leaves of the plant and has a great influence on the yield and quality of leek.
At the beginning of the disease, white or light gray spots will appear on the front and back of leek leaves. With the development of the disease, the tip of the white leaf will expand downward into a spindle or oval shape.
When it encounters a humid environment, it will grow a grayish brown mold layer.
How to deal with it?
1, and select disease-resistant varieties.
The simplest and most effective measure is to choose disease-resistant varieties.
For leek gray mold, the varieties with strong disease resistance are Zhongjiu No.2 and Tiemiao, and suitable disease-resistant varieties can be selected according to local planting conditions.
2. Rotation
When planting leek, it should be rotated with cruciferous vegetables (except onion and garlic) or cucurbitaceae vegetables, and it is forbidden to sit next to beans, which can effectively reduce the source of germs.
3. Strengthen on-site management.
(1) Reasonable close planting and timely intertillage weeding can promote the healthy growth of plants.
(2) Do a good job in rational fertilization and irrigation. During the growth of leek, phosphorus and potassium fertilizer should be applied in time, and the amount of nitrogen fertilizer should be paid attention to. During irrigation, flooding with water is not allowed, but infiltration irrigation or drip irrigation should be adopted.
(3) After the leek is harvested, the sick and disabled bodies in the field are removed in time, and then concentrated and buried deeply.
4. Chemical control
At the initial stage, 30-45g of 40% trimethoprim suspension and 65% thiophanate-methyl wettable powder1120g can be considered. Add 30-45 kg of water per mu to form a spray, once every 7 days, 2-3 times.
If the condition is serious, it is recommended to use 75% propiconazole cymoxanil wettable powder 100g+25% propiconazole EC 15g, and then add 75kg of water and spray it every 3-5 days.
Generally speaking, the white spot on leek leaves may be caused by gray mold, but it may also be other reasons.
What growers need to do is to diagnose the cause according to the symptoms and signs and prescribe the right medicine.
