Is periarthritis of shoulder healthy?

When people reach middle age, whenever they have shoulder pain, they can think of periarthritis of shoulder. If you go to the hospital for examination or daily physical examination, there will be the words "scapulohumeral periarthritis" on the diagnosis report, and there is a folk saying of "fifty shoulders".

To put it simply, it is generally believed that once people have shoulder pain in middle age and around 50 years old, just like a cold or fever, they can think of scapulohumeral periarthritis.

What does scapulohumeral periarthritis mean?

Clinically, this symptom is called "scapulohumeral periarthritis", which is referred to as scapulohumeral periarthritis. Mainly caused by shoulder pain. Compared with daytime, it occurs more frequently at night. With the change of time, the condition will become more and more serious. The age of high incidence is 50 years old, and women are higher than men.

When scapulohumeral periarthritis attacks, the activity of the shoulder will be very limited, which will be affected by aseptic inflammation and fibrosis of the shoulder joint, leading to stiffness of the shoulder. The reason why it is called scapulohumeral periarthritis is that in the process of inflammation, the shoulder seems to be frozen because of pain.

However, there are also many people who treat scapulohumeral periarthritis improperly, thinking that they can just shake their arms without treatment.

Clinically, patients with scapulohumeral periarthritis usually go through three stages, namely, pain stage, freezing stage and remission stage. The first two stages are very painful, which will slightly affect the range of shoulder movement, and even seriously affect daily life. Even sleeping at night will make it difficult to fall asleep because of shoulder pain.

In these stages, because everyone's situation is different, some people may be better in a few weeks, and they will go smoothly to the third stage, while others may last for several months or a year.

Although it is a disease that can improve itself, it is easy to have "sequelae" after the symptoms improve, such as shoulder pain and stiffness from time to time, because there is no external force. Remember not to throw your arms around, it is easy to expand the scope of pain, leading to rotator cuff injury and fracture. When doing the recovery action, it should be mainly slow and gentle.

To help you alleviate and avoid sequelae, try a few tricks:

Two kinds of arms swing gently:

Tilt your upper body slightly downward, and be careful not to straighten your legs. Choosing a small bending posture can delay the pain of shoulder muscles and keep muscles relaxed. Swing your arms gently, and a small range of activities is good for shoulder health.

Gently lift your arms when lying on your back:

Get up every morning, or before going to bed at night, relax your neck in supine position, then gently lift your arms, not too high, and lift them at a 45-degree angle according to the range of shoulder movement. Keep this posture for 30 seconds at a time and do five groups every day.
