The World Health Organization defined the theme of World Health Day on April 7, 20 19 as "universal health coverage", aiming to help people better understand the meaning of universal health coverage-what services and support should be provided and where to provide them. The National Health and Wellness Committee has designated China's publicity theme as "protecting everyone's health and moving towards a well-off society in an all-round way".
The origin of World Health Day:
1946 On July 22nd, the United Nations Economic and Social Council held the International Health Assembly in new york. Representatives of more than 60 countries signed the Constitution of the World Health Organization, which came into effect on April 7, 1948. To commemorate the adoption day of the Organic Law, the World Health Organization was formally established at the first United Nations World Health Assembly held in Geneva on June 1948, and decided to take July 22nd every year as World Health Day, and various countries launched various commemorative activities.
The following year, the Second World Health Assembly decided from 1950 that April 7th would be the global "World Health Day". Considering that schools in most countries have summer holidays in July every year, they cannot participate in this celebration.
The purpose of setting up World Health Day is to arouse the attention of all countries in the world to health problems, mobilize people all over the world to care about and improve the current health situation and improve the health level of human beings. During World Health Day, all member countries of the World Health Organization, including China, held celebrations to publicize and popularize health knowledge and improve people's health.
Since 1950, the annual World Health Day activities have identified a theme related to the field of public health, aiming at raising the world's awareness of a certain health field and taking this opportunity to carry out long-term publicity activities to promote the work in this field.
