Can blue glasses really protect your eyes? What is the principle?

Blue glasses can really protect your eyes. Anti-blue glasses are glasses that can prevent blue light from irritating eyes. Special anti-blue glasses can effectively isolate ultraviolet rays and radiation, filter blue light, and are suitable for watching computer or TV.

Two working principles: one is to absorb blue light, and the other is to reflect blue light.

The technology of absorbing blue light is called matrix absorption, that is, by adding anti-blue light factors into lens materials, when harmful blue light passes through the lens, the internal anti-blue light factors will absorb harmful blue light, thus achieving anti-blue light.

The technology of reflecting blue light, officially called thin film reflection, is to coat a layer of optical film on the surface of the lens, and reflect the harmful blue light band through the interference of light, thus achieving the effect of preventing blue light.

What is blue light?

Blue light is an important part of visible light, and there is no single white light in nature. Blue light is mixed with green light and red light to present white light. Short-wave blue light is light with relatively high energy with a wavelength between 400 nm and 480 nm. Blue light in this wavelength range will increase the amount of macular toxin in the eyes, leading to macular degeneration, which seriously threatens our fundus health. Blue light exists in computer monitors, fluorescent lamps, mobile phones, digital products, display screens, LEDs and other light.
