Why don't egrets hide from the rain when it rains?

The following reasons:

1. Foraging: Egrets mainly feed on aquatic animals such as fish and frogs. When it rains, fish and other prey in the water are more likely to be washed to the surface by rain, which is a good hunting opportunity for egrets.

2. Prevent competition: Rainy weather will reduce the activities of other birds and animals, which means that egrets will face less competition when looking for food. Therefore, they choose to continue foraging when it rains to get more food resources.

3. Feather protection: Egret feathers are waterproof, which can protect against rain to some extent. Their feather density is high, which can keep their bodies relatively dry and protect their skin and bodies from direct contact with rain.
