The Basic Point of Health Literacy Level in China

According to the website of National Health Commission, the national health literacy level reached 25.40% in 20021year, which was 2.25 percentage points higher than that in 2020, and continued to show a steady upward trend.

The monitoring results show that in 20021year, the health literacy level of urban residents in China was 30.70%, and that of rural residents was 22.02%, which were 2.62 and 2.00 percentage points higher than that in 2020 respectively. The health literacy levels of residents in eastern, central and western regions were 30.40%, 23.83% and 19.42%, respectively, which increased by 1.34, 2.82 and 2.70 percentage points compared with 2020. The level of basic knowledge and concept literacy of urban and rural residents is 37.66%, the level of healthy lifestyle and behavior literacy is 28.05%, and the level of basic skills literacy is 24.28%, which are 0.5 1, 1.6 1 .06 percentage points higher than that in 2020. The literacy level of six kinds of health problems from high to low is: safety and first aid literacy 56.4 1%, scientific health concept literacy 50.0 1%, health information literacy 35.93%, infectious disease prevention literacy 27.60%, chronic disease prevention literacy 26.67%, basic medical literacy 26.05%, including basic medical literacy, safety and first aid literacy.

The monitoring content is based on "China citizens' health literacy-basic knowledge and skills", covering 336 counties (districts) of 3/kloc-0 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the central government) and 1008 towns (streets). Effective questionnaires were obtained for the permanent population aged 15-69.
