1. Submit a valid passport;
2. Submit various documents related to the application;
3. Fill in and submit the visa application form;
4. Meeting with officials of the Embassy and Consulate of China in that country;
5. The embassy or consulate shall submit the completed visa application form and necessary supporting materials to the domestic competent authorities for examination and approval;
6. After going to the competent department of the country to carry out the necessary audit, notify the embassy or consulate in the country of the examination and approval opinions;
7. Pay the visa fee.
Legal basis: Article 7 of the Law of People's Republic of China (PRC) on Exit and Entry Administration.
With the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Public Security and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs may, according to the needs of entry-exit management, make provisions on the preservation of biometric information such as fingerprints of entry-exit personnel.
If foreign governments have special regulations on visa issuance and entry and exit management for China citizens, the China government can take corresponding reciprocal measures according to the situation.
