What are the four levels of human health?

There is an old saying in China, "Life is seventy years old and rare". This sentence is undoubtedly correct for ancient people and people from backward countries, regions or nationalities. But today, due to the progress of science, the deepening of human understanding of themselves, the improvement of living environment, the invention of new medical methods and the richness of health care methods, this old saying has gradually become obsolete. In modern times, the average life expectancy of people in many countries and regions in the world is over 70 years, such as Japan, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Australia, France and China.

Even so, people are constantly trying to deepen their understanding of themselves, thus improving the quality and value of life. This chapter will introduce the practical achievements made by many experts and scholars in exploring life and improving health.

The World Health Organization once defined human health as follows: "Health is not only the absence of disease, but also a complete state of body, mind and society". In other words, human health includes physical health, mental health and social adaptability.

Now the new concept of health put forward by the organization is that human health is divided into four levels: physical health, mental health, moral health and social adaptation health. Moreover, the later health level is a more advanced health level based on the previous health level.

(1) Physiological health level: refers to the complete organizational structure and normal physiological functions of the human body. The physiological function of human body refers to a complex and advanced form of exercise based on the internal organizational structure of human body and aimed at maintaining human life activities.

(2) Mental health level: There are three basic principles to judge whether mental health is good or not: ① Identity of psychology and environment: it means that the reflection of psychology on objective reality should be consistent with the objective environment in form and content; The wholeness of psychology and behavior: it means that a person's psychological activities and behaviors such as cognition, experience, emotion and consciousness are a complete and coordinated unity; ③ Stability of personality: refers to the relative stability of a person's unique personality and psychological characteristics formed in the long-term life experience.

(3) Moral health: Moral health is the development of physical health and mental health. The highest standard of moral health is "selfless person"; The basic standard is "altruism for oneself"; The unhealthy manifestations are "harming others and benefiting themselves" and "purely harming others and benefiting themselves".

(4) Health level of social adaptation: Social adaptation refers to a person's role adaptation in social life, including professional role, family role, role transformation in study and entertainment and interpersonal relationship. Good social adaptation requires not only high social communication ability, working ability and extensive cultural and scientific knowledge, but also the ability to be competent for various roles of individuals in social life, and creatively achieve achievements and contribute to society, and realize self-achievement and self-realization. This is the highest state of health. Lack of role consciousness and role dislocation are the manifestations of poor social adaptability and poor health.
