Xpeng Motors, as an industry benchmark focusing on intelligence in the new forces, chose to pursue advanced studies in intelligent assisted driving, and now it has come to me with quite eye-catching achievements.
On June 27th, 2022, the "Smart Progress, Every Journey" 2022 Xpeng Motors Smart Experience Camp came to Tianjin. In this activity, we will mainly experience three core intelligent driving functions: VPA parking lot memory parking enhanced version, high-speed NGP intelligent navigation assisted driving, and full-scene voice.
VPA parking lot jiyi parking
Memory parking in the parking lot is called VPA for short. It is the first "last mile" parking function in the industry that is mass-produced and does not depend on the renovation of the parking lot. It can be called "the strongest intelligent parking on the surface". It can realize the functions of intelligent speed regulation, intelligent turning, intelligent bypassing obstacles, intelligent overtaking, intelligent parking to avoid pedestrians, intelligent avoiding vehicles entering and leaving the garage and so on.
This time, the vehicle we test-drive is Tucki P7. When we drive into the basement, we start this function and finish memory learning after parking in the parking space. When we return to the basement again, the vehicle can take over automatically. On the way back to the parking space, the vehicle will automatically stop and avoid obstacles. After pedestrians or opposite vehicles pass, we will continue to implement the automatic parking function, and the system will scan other empty parking spaces along the way. Even if the preset parking space has been occupied, you can choose the vacant parking space along the way to park. In addition, the memory points of parking spaces can be transmitted to drivers of other Tucki models through the sharing function, so that riders in underground garages such as supermarkets, office buildings and houses can quickly find parking spaces and elevator positions.
In the actual experience, this function is very stable. On the premise of safety, vehicles can accurately identify static elements such as parking spaces, columns and speed bumps in underground garages, and even dynamic elements such as vehicles and pedestrians can be accurately identified and presented in the car through interactive interfaces such as voice and visual reminders, so that users can intuitively understand the system status and use boundaries.
High-speed NGP intelligent navigation assisted driving
Before you want to experience this function, you need to learn the basic operation methods and precautions of this function on your mobile phone in advance. Personally, I feel great. When the driver is sitting in the main driving position, he/she needs to log into his/her personal Tucki account, and this function can only be started after he/she has studied in the APP and passed the exam. In addition, his/her self-adjusted settings such as seat position and system preferences will also be synchronized to his/her personal account. Even if he/she only needs to log in to his/her personal Tucki account to change vehicles, all preferences will be synchronized to the new car.
Tucki NGP intelligent navigation assisted driving can realize intelligent navigation assisted driving from point A to point B according to the navigation route set by users. But at present, Xpeng Motors has achieved high-speed NGP, which refers to most highways and some urban highways covered by advanced driving assistance maps, but the routes covered by high-precision maps are still gradually expanding. When this function is turned on, it can realize intelligent assisted overtaking, intelligent assisted speed limit adjustment, optimal lane selection, intelligent assisted highway switching, intelligent assisted ramp up and down, intelligent assisted lane change emergency avoidance and other usage scenarios.
In the actual experience, drivers who have never experienced this function before will be a little nervous, because it already has the function of "semi-automatic driving", so it is called "semi-automatic driving" because after turning on this function, the driver's hands are still not allowed to leave the steering wheel, and the relevant laws and regulations do not allow this. Remember! During the lane keeping, the vehicle will constantly adjust the steering wheel. At this point, if both hands are "struggling" with the steering wheel, this function will quit, and the brake function will also quit. All you need to do is relax and observe the surrounding road environment at any time, and leave the rest to NGP. On the premise of not speeding, the vehicle will take over the whole journey until the navigation destination covers NGP. Even if the preceding vehicle slows down or is blocked by traffic, this function will automatically judge to slow down or even stop the vehicle.
When the vehicle is about to leave the expressway or get off the ramp, it will automatically change lanes in advance. Of course, you can also manually toggle the turn signal to realize the lane change function. Personally, I feel that vehicles are very conservative in the process of changing lanes. It will not accelerate overtaking and forcibly change lanes, but will only be implemented on the premise of safe surrounding environment. Therefore, in the case of complex surrounding road conditions, it is necessary to always pay attention to the preparations for manually taking over the vehicle. However, it must be said that this function can really alleviate driving fatigue to a great extent in long-distance travel, especially on highways with vast land and sparsely populated areas.
Full-scene speech
This function is nothing new at present, but I am satisfied with the speech recognition system of Tucki locomotive as a whole, especially its impressive response speed and continuous command input. Most of the functions of vehicles can be accomplished through voice dialogue, which is gradually changing people's driving habits. I believe that the driving mode of "talking without doing it" will become more and more popular. After all, this can ensure driving safety. On the other hand, in the face of the complicated second-and third-level pages in the car machine system, manual selection is time-consuming and laborious, which is far less convenient than one sentence.
