Interpretation of community health education terms

Community health education refers to organized and planned health education activities with the community as the unit, the community population as the education object and the goal of promoting the health of community residents. Its purpose is to arouse and guide the community people to establish health awareness, care about the health problems of themselves, their families and the community, actively participate in the formulation and implementation of community health education and health promotion plans, develop good health behaviors and lifestyles, and improve their self-care ability and group health level.

The general rural community units are counties, towns, districts and villages; Urban community units are cities, districts, streets and neighborhood committees. According to China's national conditions and local experience, administrative villages and neighborhood committees in cities are the basic intervention units of community health education. The object of community health education is the permanent residents within the jurisdiction and the professional people in enterprises, institutions, schools, businesses and other service industries within the jurisdiction. The key groups of community health education are women, children and adolescents, the elderly, the disabled and service workers.
