Overview of stone slag
The chemical composition of carbide slag is related to the quality of carbide. Take a factory as an example, its composition is as follows: calcium oxide accounts for 63.93%, magnesium oxide accounts for 1.27%, aluminum oxide accounts for 0.50%, iron oxide accounts for 0.96%, silicon dioxide accounts for 7.90%, and the loss on ignition accounts for 24.30%. The specific gravity of carbide slag is 1.82, the dry bulk density is 0.683 g/cm3, the wet bulk density is 1.366 g/cm3, and the fineness after passing through a 4900-hole sieve per square centimeter is 14.4%. Calcium carbide slag mainly comes from the production of PVC and vinyl acetate by calcium carbide method. Every production of 1 ton of PVC consumes about 1.45 tons of electricity, and every ton of calcium carbide hydrolyzes to produce 1 ton of calcium carbide slag, so every production of 1 ton of PVC needs to discharge more than 2 tons of calcium carbide slag. Calcium carbide slag has a large amount, high alkali content and harmful substances such as sulfur and arsenic. If discharged without treatment, it will block sewers, deposit riverbeds and endanger fishery production. Stacking on land will occupy land and pollute the environment.
