Is the sandwich board with formaldehyde exceeding 30% called "poison board"?

Family decoration is almost inseparable from joinery board (commonly known as sandwich board). Its quality is not only related to the life of home improvement projects, but also closely related to human health. However, the survey of the industrial and commercial departments shows that the unqualified rate of sandwich panels in the market is close to 90%. Nearly 30% of them are formaldehyde exceeding the standard, which is called "poison board" by consumers and is very harmful to people's health.

Industrial and commercial authorities and other law enforcement agencies strictly check the quality of sandwich panels and expose problematic production and sales enterprises. Such a move is very popular. Let's * * * together "encirclement and suppression", so that those inferior products have no place.

On July 17, the Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce announced the results of a special spot check on the quality of blockboard in the decoration materials market: the unqualified rate was as high as 89.5%, of which formaldehyde exceeded the standard by 29.4%, which was worrying.

It is understood that the Municipal Administration for Industry and Commerce recently entrusted Liaoning Furniture Product Quality Supervision and Inspection Station to conduct continuous supervision and spot checks on the blockboard products sold in Shenyang Wanghua Wood Market, Xiaobei Decoration Materials Market and Northeast Decoration Materials City and stored in some warehouses. The inspection basis of this spot check is the national mandatory standard GB 18580-200 1 Limit of harmful substances in interior decoration materials, wood-based panels and their products and the national standard GB/T 5849- 1999 "Blockboard", and the way is to carry out blind sample quality inspection on the products. The results of spot checks show that the quality of most blockboards sold in the market in our city is far from the national standard.

A total of 38 batches of blockboard products were randomly selected in this supervision and spot check, and the production enterprises involved Tianjin, Hebei, Inner Mongolia, Jilin, Liaoning and other five provinces 13 cities. Among them, 34 batches of blockboard products produced in different places were randomly selected, accounting for 89.5% of the total number of random inspections; 4 batches produced locally, accounting for 10.5% of the total number of spot checks. According to the national standards, the provincial furniture product quality supervision and inspection station inspected the physical and chemical properties (moisture content, static bending strength and bonding strength) and the limit of harmful substances (formaldehyde emission) of 38 batches of blockboard products, and 34 batches were unqualified, with the unqualified rate of 89.5%; There are 4 batches of qualified products, and the qualified rate is 10.5%. Among them, in the limited inspection of harmful substances, the formaldehyde emission index was unqualified 10 batch, accounting for 29.4% of the unqualified rate; Physical and chemical indicators test: among them, 6 batches of moisture indicators failed, accounting for17.6% of the unqualified rate; 14 batch of transverse static bending strength index is unqualified, accounting for 41.2% of the unqualified rate; 28 batches of adhesive strength indicators failed, accounting for 82.4% of the unqualified rate.

The main quality problems reflected in the spot check are-

The formaldehyde emission exceeds the standard. Formaldehyde has strong irritation to human mucosa, especially respiratory system, which affects human health. The unqualified rate of supervision and spot check of blockboard products is 29.4%, and the content of harmful substances (formaldehyde) in some products is as high as 57.3 mg/L, which exceeds the national E2 standard 1 1 times.

Insufficient adhesive strength. Bonding strength reflects the stability of blockboard structure and its ability to resist exposure to moisture. Among the products sampled, the unqualified rate of adhesive strength is 82.4%, and the adhesive strength of 1 1 batch products is lower than 0. 1Mpa, which is less than the standard value of 1/7. This shows that the enterprise has not solved the problem of how to reach the limited index from the technical aspect, but only solved the formaldehyde problem by reducing the sizing amount, which led to the unqualified bonding strength of blockboard. Although formaldehyde emission can be reduced, the bonding strength of blockboard is damaged, which makes its performance fail to meet the standard requirements and the overall quality of the product fail to meet the standard. Therefore, the fundamental way to solve formaldehyde emission should be to adopt new adhesives or improve the quality of urea-formaldehyde resin.

The transverse static bending strength is unqualified. The transverse static bending strength reflects the ability of blockboard products to withstand stress, resist stress and deformation. Among the products sampled, the unqualified rate of transverse static bending strength index is 4 1.2%. The transverse static bending strength of some products is only 5.6MPa, which is less than half of the standard value. This shows that there is a problem of insufficient gluing in the process of batten laying (both sides of batten are not glued). So that its performance can not meet the standard requirements, thus reducing the overall bond strength of blockboard.

Low moisture content. Moisture content is related to the ability of blockboard products to resist deformation when environmental humidity changes. Among the products sampled, the unqualified rate of moisture index is 17.6%. This kind of fault will make the wood-based panel products easy to deform and warp in use. The main reasons for the unqualified project are poor quality of raw materials and unreasonable production technology.
