Ozone pollution: Why does "umbrella" become a "health killer"?

Since primary school, teachers have told us to protect the ozone layer above the earth. At that time, we all thought that ozone was a good substance and called it the "protective umbrella" of the earth. Later, when I grew up, I heard that ozone pollution has become a "health killer" that harms my health. We can't help asking, how did ozone change from an umbrella to a health killer? Let's look at the reasons for this change.

In fact, at high altitudes, ozone still does not forget to protect our earth and all living things on it. However, with the development of science and technology, people use refrigerators and air conditioners in large quantities for their own convenience. The refrigerants in these two kinds of electrical appliances will be emitted into the air and eventually reach the stratospheric ozone layer, resulting in ozone holes.

It is true that distance produces beauty. Ozone will protect us when it is in the distant stratosphere. But when it reached the ground, it changed. Chemically, it is only one more oxygen than the oxygen we live on. However, this difference has completely different effects on us. When we are in a place with a lot of ozone, our bodies will have various adverse reactions, such as sore throat, uncomfortable eyes and possibly headaches. Because it is close to the ground, it has also become our health killer.

To this end, we still have to find ways to protect the ozone layer at high altitude, otherwise there will be too much ultraviolet rays on the earth, and the possibility of skin cancer will increase. For ozone near the ground, we have no solution at present, and we will only stay away from places with high ozone concentration.
