I. Chkdsk tool
Windows Chkdsk tool is a built-in disk checking tool in Windows, which can be operated through graphical interface and command line. It is mainly used to scan and check file system errors and sector problems. Of course, in addition to checking, Chkdsk can also automatically try to repair damaged sector errors.
Using Chkdsk is very simple, just right-click a partition-select Properties-click the Tools tab, and then click Check in Error Checking.
Click Scan Drive in the pop-up window.
Second, use WMIC.
WMIC is an interactive command-line management interface in Windows, which allows administrators to perform many management tasks, including checking the running status of Windows disks. We can use S.M.A.R.T (automatic monitoring analysis report technology) to check the functional status of the hard disk and return the results.
Running execution: wmic executes again: diskdrive get status checks whether all disks are OK.
Third, use third-party disk health tools.
If you want to view the detailed information of disk health status comprehensively, you'd better use some professional third-party tools. There are many similar tools to obtain hard disk data by using SMART function (the principle is the same as WMIC), but the output results and details are rich and professional.
Here, I recommend a CrystalDiskInfo tool, which is small, completely free, powerful and informative, and can monitor and report the disk status.
There are many third-party tools to check the health of Windows disks, such as Sentinel and HDDScan, but CrystalDiskInfo is usually enough.
