Is Ruichang Chihu an ecological and healthy breeding base?

No. Located between Ruichang City and Chaisang District of Jiujiang City, Chihu Lake is the fifth largest natural freshwater lake in Ruichang. The water area of Chihu Ruichang Responsibility Area is 36,000 mu, including 22,000 mu of dismantled fences, involving 84 township aquaculture farmers such as Wharf, Wujiao and Baiyang. Due to years of management and cultivation, purse seine cultivation in Chihu Ruichang responsibility area has been overexploited, which has caused great damage to aquatic animals and plants, resulting in the decline of self-purification function of water areas and eutrophication of water quality. Therefore, Chihu Lake is not an ecologically healthy breeding base. In the next step, Ruichang will continue to adhere to the concept of ecological priority and green development, and do a good job in ecological restoration and environmental improvement of Chihu in accordance with the requirements of the central, provincial and municipal governments on environmental protection and river length system, so as to truly make Chihu a "blue lake" and make this water area more beautiful, moving and full of vitality.
