Criteria for judging the health status of rabbits

One, three inspection

Three inspections refer to checking the rabbit's food intake, water consumption and feces.

1, check the food intake of rabbits. The early manifestations of many diseases in rabbits begin with abnormal diet. Rabbits are very active in feeding when they are healthy, and generally finish the feed provided by their owners within a certain period of time. If the rabbit is found motionless or eating little feed, it means that there is something wrong with the rabbit's body, and the owner should isolate it in time for further inspection.

3. Check the water consumption of rabbits. Water consumption is also an important reference index for rabbits' health. There is little difference in water consumption of rabbits. If the rabbit's water consumption suddenly increases or decreases, it is likely to be a signal that the rabbit is abnormal, and the owner should pay attention.

4. Check the feces of rabbits. About one-third of the diseases of rabbits will lead to changes in their digestive system, that is, many diseases of rabbits can be reflected by changes in their feces. Under normal circumstances, from the appearance, rabbit feces should be spherical feces with appropriate size and hardness and concentrated distribution. However, if the feces of rabbits are found to be mushy, watery, or accompanied by blood or mucus, it means that there is something wrong with the digestive system of rabbits, so it is necessary to isolate them in time for further examination, find out the reasons and treat them in time according to the reasons.

Two, five. Look.

The five senses refer to the mental state, facial features, behavior and hair of rabbits.

1, look at the rabbit's mental state. Under normal circumstances, in the early morning and evening, rabbits are full of energy, bright eyes, sensitive to external movements and always alert. Usually some slight movements in the surrounding environment will make it look up immediately. However, if rabbits are found to be listless, unresponsive or extremely excited, it is best to isolate them in time and carefully check whether there is any problem.

2. Look at your appetite. Generally, when the owner feeds the rabbits every morning, the rabbits will rush to the rabbit cage to wait for feeding, which shows their hunger for food. It's normal for rabbits to have this kind of situation, which shows that their appetite is normal, because rabbits themselves are delicious animals. And if it is found that some rabbits are not interested in food and don't grab food like other rabbits, it is likely that the rabbit's body is abnormal.

3. Look at the five senses. When rabbits are healthy, their eyes will not shed tears, only a small amount of secretions, no snot in their noses, no saliva in their mouths, no sores on their tongues and no pus in their ears. If the appearance is opposite, it means that the rabbit is abnormal and should be diagnosed and treated immediately.

4. Watch the action. When rabbits are sick, they often make some abnormal movements, such as scratching, crooked neck, hunchback, overlooking the anus and so on. However, if these abnormal behaviors are found in rabbits, it is best to give them further examination immediately so as to find and treat diseases in time.

5. Look at this hair. The hair of healthy rabbits should be clean and shiny, and there will be no large-scale depilation, skin inflammation, ringworm and other phenomena. If the rabbit skin is found to have serious depilation, skin inflammation, ulceration and blisters, it must be isolated immediately, diagnosed and treated in time.

The above is the introduction of Dr. Paw Paw's criteria for judging the rabbit's health, hoping to help everyone better understand the rabbit, find the abnormality of the rabbit in time and give it treatment in time.
