How should parents ensure the safety of family living environment?

A safe family living environment is the first line of defense to protect minors' right to life and health.

Article 16 of the Law on the Protection of Minors stipulates that parents or other guardians of minors shall provide protection for minors in life, health and safety.

Article 18 stipulates that parents or other guardians of minors should provide a safe family living environment for minors and promptly eliminate potential safety hazards that cause electric shock, burns, falls and other injuries.

From the actual cases, it is found that there are three main aspects that the family living environment causes harm to minors: First, electric shock.

Parents should pay attention to the safety education of minors' electricity use, use qualified and safe electrical appliances and mobile electronic products at home, promptly investigate the hidden dangers that may cause minors to get an electric shock in the family environment, and reduce the occurrence of electric shock accidents from the root.

The second is Burns.

Burns mainly occur in minors from 0 to 4 years old, and about 84% occur at home.

Parents should keep the main activity area of minors away from the kitchen as far as possible, and put flammable and explosive articles such as lighters, matches, alcohol and disinfectant out of the reach of minors.

The third is the decline.

Parents should install fences and other safety facilities on balconies and windows.

Remove the risk factors that easily lead to the fall of minors in the family environment. When minors are easy to climb sofas, beds, tables and stools, they should keep a certain distance from balconies and windowsills as far as possible to avoid these items becoming the inducement of falling accidents for minors.
