Sing for the Motherland Children's Lyrics

Singing the Motherland

Lyrics: Wang Xin

Composer: Wang Xin

The five-starred red flag flutters in the wind, and the victory song is so loud

Singing of our beloved motherland, from now on we will become prosperous and strong

Singing of our beloved motherland, from now on we will become prosperous and strong

Crossing over the mountains and the plain

Through the rushing Yellow River and the Yangtze River, the wide and beautiful land

is our dear homeland, the heroic people have risen up

The heroes of the land will rise to the occasion. >The Yellow River, the Yangtze River, the wide and beautiful land

is our dear home, the heroic people have risen up

We are united, friendly and strong as steel, the five-starred red flag is fluttering in the wind

How loud is the victory song, singing of our beloved motherland

Singing of our beloved motherland, singing of our beloved motherland

Singing of our beloved motherland, singing of our beloved motherland, singing of our beloved motherland, singing of our beloved motherland, singing of our beloved motherland, singing of our beloved motherland, singing of our beloved motherland Prosperity and strength, we are hard-working

We are brave, independence and freedom are our ideals

We overcame a lot of sufferings to get today's liberation

We love peace, we love our hometown

Whoever dares to invade us, we will call for his death, and the five-starred red flag is fluttering in the wind

How loud is the song of victory, singing of our beloved motherland

We are proud to have been the first to win a victory in the world.

Toward prosperity and strength from now on

On September 15, 1950, Wang Xin went from Tianjin to Beijing to buy a musical instrument. On the way back, he was attracted by the golden sunset over Tiananmen Square. Looking up, a bright red national flag was flying high in the sunset, which made his heart pound, and the 32-year-old Wang Xin was inspired to write the first four lines of the song.

When he arrived home, Wang Xin and his wife Wang Huifen hummed in the same voice, and Wang Xin finished the second and third sections of the lyrics in one go overnight.

The song is widely sung because of its bright and majestic rhythms, and has now become the ceremonial, opening or closing song for all major events in China, known as the "second national anthem".
