Composition Background
"The Sound of the Waves Remains the Same" was written and composed by Chen Xiaoqi. The song was inspired by the Tang poem "Night Mooring at Fengqiao". Once, Chen Xiaoqi happened to reread "Night Mooring on Maple Bridge", and felt that the words "the river maple and the fishing fire are sleepy with sorrows" and so on made people think a lot, so he wanted to use this to write a song.
Chen Xiaoqi wrote the song to reflect the state of his generation, which is caught between traditional and modern culture. Chen wrote the lyrics, "Can this old ticket get on your passenger ship," to express the confusion people feel when they are on the edge.
