Born in November 1931, a native of Suide, Shaanxi. National first-level composer. Member of the Chinese Musicians Association, former head of the Shaanxi Orchestra, vice chairman of the Shaanxi Provincial Music Association, editor-in-chief of "Music World", consultant to the Provincial Music Association, and honorary editor-in-chief of "Music World".
In 1946, he served as a performer in the Suide Normal University Art Troupe. After graduation in 1947, he was assigned to work in the Suide District Art Troupe. In 1956, he studied at the China Symphony Conducting Training Class under the tutelage of the German conductor Professor Gosling. Graduated from the Composition Department of the Central Conservatory of Music in 1965. He has successively served as a performer, band conductor, band deputy captain, captain, creative group leader, and group leader in Suide District Art Troupe, Northwest Art Troupe, Xi'an Song and Dance Troupe, Shaanxi Provincial Song and Dance Theater, and Shaanxi Provincial Orchestra.
The works he conducts include the songs "White-Haired Girl", "Comrades", "Good Brothers", the dance drama "Qinling Guerrillas", the cantata "Ode to the Motherland", "Down to Sichuan", "The River Still Flows", as well as numerous song and dance parties and concerts. He has created more than a thousand pieces of various musical works. His representative works include the operas "Boxer Rebellion" and "Danfeng Sons and Daughters" (co-production), the song and dance "Northern Shaanxi Dance Group" and "Sending Purse", and the symphonic group songs "Echo of Kunlun" and "Black Sunshine". ", the songs "Chairman Mao's kindness is deeper than the sea", "The forest is quiet", the film music "The melon is ripe and the stems fall", the instrumental music "The Song of the Herding Horse" (clarinet solo), etc.
More than 70 works have won awards at the national, provincial and municipal levels. Some works have been included in the teaching materials of music schools, and many works have been recorded into records, CDs and cassettes. His works have diverse styles, rigorous structures and beautiful melodies, and have been well received. He has written nearly 100 music reviews, essays, and papers, scattered in newspapers and magazines.
