I. Xu Jinglei
Xu Jinglei was born on April 16, 1974, in a residential area near Sanlitun, Beijing, where her father, Xu Zijian, and her mother, Yu Shurong, were both ordinary workers. Xu Jinglei has a younger brother below her.
When Xu Jinglei was 17 years old, she rode a bicycle through the vast city of Beijing, walking long distances to study painting, and for a year, she was bent on getting into the choreography department of the Chinese Opera House and the Academy of Arts and Crafts, only to fall short of the mark.
That year, she applied to the Central Academy of Drama, Department of Choreography and Makeup, but was not admitted. After that, she was admitted to the acting department of Beijing Film Academy.

"Dulala's Promotion" is adapted from Li Ke's novel of the same name, produced by China Film Group. The movie is an urban romance directed by Xu Jinglei and starring Huang Lixing, Wu Pei Ci and Karen Mok.
The movie tells the story of Du Lala, a working woman who spends eight years in a foreign company, seeing all kinds of workplace changes and workplace trials and tribulations, and eventually grows up to be a professional and competent HR manager, while reaping the rewards of love.
2. "Carrying Love to the End"
"Carrying Love to the End" is the first youth idol drama in mainland China, directed by Zhang Yibai and starring Li Yapeng, Xu Jinglei and Wang Xuebing.
The drama paints a long scroll of urban youth love and ambition in the 1990s. There are love, dreams, popularity and romance in the drama, while at the same time there is also helplessness and confusion in reality. The play reflects the real life through touching dramas.

"Me and My Dad" is a drama film written and directed by Xu Jinglei, starring Ye Dajing, Jiang Wen, and Zhang Yuan, and was released on September 10, 2003 in theaters.
The movie tells an alternative story of a young girl who loses her mother and grows to adulthood with her father by her side.
