For the distribution of offline questionnaires, it is a combination of visits, the team responsible for the interview will contact the relevant staff of the village committee in advance, after understanding the actual living conditions of the elderly left behind in the village, to determine the target of the interview, and then personally door-to-door distribution of questionnaires. After the questionnaires were filled out, the interviews were conducted with the elderly. Taking Jimbun Street in Pingtang County, Guizhou Province as an example, the team members conducted a survey on the mental health of the elderly. After many days of investigation, the following conclusions were obtained: most of the local elderly are still relatively healthy, action, life is not a big problem, but also often come out to walk around. Some of the elderly are from the countryside to live on the streets, although the county streets to enjoy the blessings, but some of them are still more accustomed to the countryside and rural life, in the county feel at a loss. The vast majority of the children of the elderly are to make a living and work or work outside (Guangdong, Guangxi, Zhejiang, mostly), often at home with grandchildren, appropriate to do a little farming or a little activity. With working children mostly once a month, and working children often see a dozen days a year, the elderly have a certain degree of loneliness. The general activities of the elderly are: square dancing, chess, throwing dice, take the grandchildren for a walk, nagging and so on.
After 2 days of questionnaire distribution and interviews, the team collected a lot of real information. At the same time, the team also realized the many inconveniences of the life of the elderly in the countryside. The team also realized that there are a lot of inconveniences in the life of the elderly in the countryside, and that the lack of spiritual resources is a more important factor in lowering the quality of life of the elderly than the lack of material resources.
