His name was Ben, his character Guanzhong, his name was Luhai Sanren, a Han Chinese, a native of Taiyuan Prefecture in Shanxi Province. In his early years, Luo Guanzhong was involved in an insurrectionary struggle against the Yuan. After the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, he concentrated on literary creation. Luo Guanzhong edited novels such as The Popular Performances of the Three Kingdoms and The Remnants of the Tang and Five Dynasties.
One of Luo Guanzhong's masterpieces was the "Popular Romance of the Three Kingdoms" (also known as "Romance of the Three Kingdoms"), a long novel that had a profound influence on the literary creation of later generations. Luo Guanzhong had various artistic talents, in addition to novel writing, there are still surviving miscellaneous dramas "Zhao Taizu Dragon Tiger Wind and Cloud Meeting".
At the end of the Yuan and the beginning of the Ming Dynasty, social contradictions were acute, with peasants' revolts and the domination of the countryside. After many years of war and chaos, Zhu Yuanzhang overthrew the countryside, overthrew the Yuan Dynasty, and established the Ming Dynasty.

Luo Guanzhong wrote Romance of the Three Kingdoms on the basis of Chen Shou's Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Pei Songzhi's notes, absorbing folklore and stories from novels and operas. The earliest surviving copy of the book was published in the first year of the Jiajing period (1522) and is known as the Jiajing version, with the title "Chen Shou's History of the Marquis of Pingyang in the Jin Dynasty, and Luo Guanzhong's editing of the book in the latter part of his studies".
After the Jiajing edition, a large number of new editions appeared, all of which were mainly based on the Jiajing edition, with only some illustrations, testimonies, comments, and additions and deletions to the text, and the number of volumes and bibliographies were sorted out. During the Kangxi period of the Qing Dynasty, Mao Lun, Mao Zonggang father and son of the Jiajing book "Romance of the Three Kingdoms" made some modifications, mainly to organize the list, amend the text. Changing the poetry, etc., no major changes in content.
