Selection and Assessment
According to the relevant charter of the Nobel Foundation, the selection of the Nobel Prize in Literature is conducted by the Swedish Academy. The Swedish Academy has 18 members and is responsible for selecting the Nobel Prize in Literature. The winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature is selected from candidates recommended by the Nobel Committee for Literature. The Nobel Committee for Literature is the working body that examines nominations and selects candidates. It consists of four to five members.
According to the regulations of the Nobel Foundation, the list of nominees is never released to the public, and the nominees themselves will not learn that they have been nominated. Nomination records are sealed for 50 years.
