Qiao Feng is located at the southwest end of Suzhou, only five or six miles away from the city. North and South ships meet here, which has been the main road of land and water transportation since ancient times. Because there were checkpoints here in the Tang Dynasty, whenever imperial grain was transported to the north, the river was blocked and the Qiao Feng Bridge was closed.
Qiao Feng is a single-hole stone arch bridge, which can be seen everywhere in the south of the Yangtze River. Only after Zhang Ji, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, wrote the poem "a night-mooring near maple bridge" did it become famous all over the world. Due to the gathering of ships and cars and the convening of international business conferences, Qiao Feng area is very prosperous, and it is the distribution center and trading center of ancient Suzhou materials.
After years of development and construction, it has become a scenic spot with beautiful tourism environment, rich cultural landscape and the style of ancient towns in the south of the Yangtze River. At present, the scenic spots are Qiao Feng Garden and Qiao Feng Tielingguan, and the popular scenic spots are "Upstream of Qiao Feng Ancient Town" and "Qiao Feng Bookstore". A night berth near Fengqiao has been passed down through the ages, and the sound of the waves is still fresh.
Qiao Feng is a single-hole stone arch bridge across the ancient canal, echoing Jiangcun Bridge in front of Hanshan Temple. There is a poem in Gao Qi in the Ming Dynasty, which says that "the painted bridge reflects the Jiangcheng River for 300 times, and the maple bridge in the poem has a different name", reflecting that the maple bridge has been famous since ancient times. Zhang Jizeng, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, berthed on the ancient canal next to the Qiao Feng Bridge and wrote the famous a night-mooring near maple bridge, which made Hanshan Temple famous all over the world.
