What are the steps of Tibetan dance?

1. Natural position

"Natural position" refers to people's natural standing posture in life, which is equivalent to the position between "frontal position" and "small figure eight position". The toes are not close together, and the two toes are not far apart.

2. Help your hips

Fingers are folded naturally, palms of your hands are supported on both sides of your waist and hips, and elbows are parallel to your body. This is a special posture of akimbo in Tibetan dance.

3, slight tremor

"natural position", knees are relatively loose, bending and stretching up and down. It is the basic rhythm of Tibetan tap dance.

4. step back

"tap dance step". Standing in the "natural position", the body is relaxed and natural. (Take the right foot as an example) Step backward with the forefoot of the right foot, lightly step forward with the left foot, and step forward with the right foot again, with the center of gravity still on the left foot. All three steps should be audible, and the first two steps are slightly lighter than the last step. "Back" and "Step" are separated by one foot.

Classification

Tibetan dances can be generally divided into two categories: ethnic and folk self-entertainment dances and religious dances. These two kinds of dances have their own rich cultural connotations, graceful and chic dancing postures and unique dance styles and forms.

Among them, Qiangmu is the most important ritual dance in the religious dance category. The emergence and spread of the temple dance Qiangmu is closely related to the emergence and development of Tibetan Buddhism.

At the same time, due to the existence of different factions in Tibetan Buddhism, Qiangmu, which is commonly known as the dance of "jumping the gods", has different characteristics and differences in many aspects, such as dance form, props use and performers' costumes.
