Plum Blossom Three Lullabies

The Plum Blossom Three Lemonade, also known as Plum Blossom Lemonade, Plum Blossom Song, and Jade Concubine Lemonade, according to the Taiyin Supplement and Banana-an Zither Recordings, is rumored to have been originally a piece of flute music composed by Huan Yi in the Jin Dynasty, and later adapted for the guqin. The sheet music for the qin piece is first found in the Miraculous Secret Score (1425 AD). Through the characteristics of the plum blossom, such as its whiteness and fragrance, and its resistance to cold, the piece expresses the feelings of the people through objects, in order to glorify the people with noble morals. There are 10 passages in the piece***, because the theme is played three times on the overtones of different emblems of the zither (the upper, middle, and lower parts of the instrument), so it is known as the "Three Lane".
