Introduction of Han Lefu
Originally, it was the official office for collecting poems and making music at the beginning of the Han Dynasty, and later it was specifically referred to the Han Dynasty's Lefu poems. At the time of Emperor Hui of the Han Dynasty, there was an official who ordered the Lefu, so it is possible that there was already a Lefu at that time. During the reign of Emperor Wu, the scale of Lefu was enlarged, and it became a specialized official office, which was in charge of the music during the suburban rituals, processions, court meetings and banquets, and also in charge of the collection of folk songs for the ruler to observe the winds and customs and to understand the people's sentiments. These collected ballads and other poems that were set to music by the Lefu were called Lefu poems by later generations.
Appreciation:
This is a song of lotus picking, reflecting the scene of lotus picking and the joyful mood of the lotus pickers. It has a unique flavor among the Han Lefu folk songs. After reading this poem, it is as if a wave of summer freshness comes to our face, which makes us feel refreshed just thinking about it. More than that, we feel the poet's mood of peace and quiet at the same time, their mood also become relaxed.
Not a single word in the poem is written about people, but it is as if we were hearing their voices, seeing them, being there, feeling a vibrant youth and vitality, and appreciating the inner joy of the lotus pickers and the joy and sweetness between young men and women. This is the immortal charm of this folk song.
