Figure Skating Ice Dance Competition Rules
Ice Dance
1, short dance: is the integration of the original provisions of the dance and the creation of the dance. The time is 2 minutes and 50 seconds (?10 seconds).
2, free dance: athletes can choose their own music, in the prescribed 4 minutes (?10 seconds) to complete the self-choreographed dance composed of a variety of footwork, lifting, small jumps, posture, grip and other actions, the referee based on the athletes to complete the movement quality, style and innovation, such as the assessment of the technical scores and artistic impression points.
Ice dance movements and rules
(a) Dance lifting
Dance lifting: is a partner is lifted and supported at a certain height, and then put on the ice action. Any turns, postures and positional changes are permitted in a lift. The hold-up can enhance the music and express its character, performed in a graceful manner without obviously acrobatic movements, awkward movements and ungainly movements and postures.
Types of dance lifts:
1, short lifts? The lifting time is not more than 6 seconds, divided into four kinds of in situ lifting, straight line lifting, arc lifting, and turn body lifting.
2, long lifts - lifting time not more than 12 seconds, divided into two-way lifts, serpentine lifts, joint lifts three.
Rules:
In the Creation Dance: you can do a short hold-up? but no more than 2 (up to 6 seconds/each).
In Free Dance: you can do three different kinds of lifts One of them can be a long lift of your choice not exceeding 12 seconds.
(ii) Dance Spin
1. Spin? Is the dance partner with any grip *** with the completion of the rotation, requiring each person with a single foot around a *** with the axis of rotation at a point to complete.
2, joint rotation? After the above rotation there is a foot change completed by two people at the same time and continue to rotate.
Rules:
In short dances: dance spins are not included in the prescribed movements. However, it is permissible for two people *** to hold each other around a *** same axis and perform any number of rotations with one foot (or both feet) for any number of weeks. Partners may choose to use such movements as part of the program choreography.
In Free Dance: one Dance Spin (choose from Spin and Combined Spin) NOTE: It is permissible to do an additional Dance Spin (Spin or Combined Spin), but only the first one done is recognized and considered for its difficulty level.
(iii) Dance holds combined with spins
Dance spins combined with holds are permitted. However, they should be reported separately as two movements, i.e. a dance lift and a dance rotation.
1. Spinning? Both must complete at least 3 consecutive weeks of spinning on one foot.
2. Joint Spin? Both individuals must complete at least 3 consecutive rotations on one foot, then both individuals complete a foot change at the same time. Following the completion of 3 weeks of rotation on the other foot, no more than half a week on both feet during the foot change.
The basic positions of dance rotation:
1, upright position
2, crouching position
3, swallow position
(D) Successive steps
All the successive steps are divided into the following two groups:
Group A? Straight line succession step
1, the center line succession step? Skating along the full length of the center line of the rink's long axis
2. Diagonal succession step? Skating along the full length of one corner to the opposite corner
Group B? Arc succession step (can be in the clockwise or anti-clockwise direction)
1, circular succession step? In the short axis of the rink to make full use of its width
2, serpentine succession step? At one end of the center line of the long axis of the rink, skating in three large arcs or two large arcs (S-shaped), ending at the opposite end of the long axis of the ice (the pattern of the ice to make full use of the width)
(E) synchronized twisting step
Twisting step? is a one-footed turn of the body for one or more weeks of skating action, is a turn of the body fast and continuous action, the player must skate on the ice during the turn. (If the movement stops during the completion, the twist step becomes a spin.)
The four different twist steps into the blade? Front inside edge, front outside edge, back inside edge, and back outside edge.
Beginner roller skating tips
1, stand steady and straight: stand both feet into a T shape or put both heels together to make a V shape.

6, stop: skating in the above position, feet close to keep parallel, the foot with the brake slightly forward skating, so that the distance between the two feet is about half a foot, lift the toes until the brake touches the ground, and then slowly move the weight to the brake, increase the pressure until you stop.
