"Jimmy, Come On" is an episode of the Hindi movie Disco Dancing Star.
There are many people who have heard this song, and even more who have danced vigorously to this tune, yet very few know that this song came out of the movie Disco Dancing Star.
This movie, though not very well known, is a small sign of the merging of Indian film music with international pop music in the 1980s.
The story begins with anil (later jiy), a child in Mumbai, who performs on the streets with raju (played by rajesh khanna), an entertainer, on guitar and drums.
According to Hindi cinema tradition, anil becomes "friends" with a rich girl, rita (Rita), which is obviously not allowed, and on one of these dates the little girl's father, mr. oberoi, runs into him, who rightly beats anil and his mother up, which ultimately leads to the uprooting of anil's family. The family is uprooted..., and anil vows revenge, and his weapon of choice is disco! Some years later, say (oberoi's son) becomes India's most famous dance star for a variety of reasons, but his haphazard and corrupt lifestyle makes manager davidbrown very unhappy, and he begins to trying to find a replacement for sam.
The opportunity finally arose for jiy (formerly known as anil), who, as a parody of John Cuftar's Saturday night performance, was a great success. With the success of his Saturday Night Fever impersonation of John Cuervo, jiy became the right man for Brown.
Jiy's nightclub performance is hated by Sam, who sends his sister, Rita, to wreak havoc, but Rita is also impressed by jiy's acting skills.
The movie was a huge success in India, with relatively grandiose scenes, flashy costumes, intense fights, and even a few disco props that sparked a new wave of disco fever in India and even Asia.
