There are two species-"East African Gorilla" and "West African Gorilla". It is the largest species of all primates in existence, with a shoulder height of about 0.85 meters in quadruped state and a standing height of 1.6- 1.8 meters.

The height of an upright gorilla can reach 1.75 meters, because the gorilla's knees can't be really straight, so its actual body length is longer than this height. Males are bigger than females.
