How should camellia be managed in autumn? What are the precautions?

There are two kinds of camellias, one is native camellias and the other is cultivated camellias. The genetic and physiological characteristics of the two camellia species are different, and their growth habits, suitable soil, environment and climate are also different. Camellia of natural seedlings are difficult to preserve in the living room, but Camellia of cultivated seedlings are different and can be preserved indoors.

Local camellia seedlings. Growth regularity and characteristics of natural camellia. It blooms in February every year from mid-April, and the sowing period of germination and tea is from the end of June to July, and the dormancy period is in Xiaoyangchun in mid-October.

The local camellia seedlings have entered autumn. At this time, camellia is developing vigorously, and the buds are not yet mature. They need to transport enough nutrients and water to promote the maturity of leaves. Camellia enters autumn, which is not conducive to replacing flowerpots.

The best time to change pots, whether local camellia seedlings or camellia seedlings, is in the "dormant period", which can avoid reducing nutrient loss and energy consumption and help to quickly restore growth ability after replanting.

Time selection. When the weather is fine, choose to change the pot in the morning or at noon. You can't choose to change pots and pans on cloudy or rainy days. Because of the high air humidity on cloudy or rainy days, it is easy to cause root diseases of camellia, such as root rot.

Selection of flowerpots. The selected flowerpot should be larger than the replacement flowerpot but not smaller than the replacement flowerpot. Choose flowerpots with high purple sand permeability. Generally, the height of flowerpots is required to be about 30 cm. The diameter of the flowerpot is the diameter of the new flowerpot. It must be soaked in clean water 1-2 days in advance, and the fire source must be removed to prevent the root from burning. If it is an old flowerpot, it must be cleaned and disinfected to remove eggs.

Choose soil. Because it is a potted plant of camellia, the soil must be loose, breathable and fertile. You can choose rotten leaf soil, rotten pine needle soil, perlite and rotten bean cake. Mix according to the ratio of 4:2:2:2. A small amount of bone meal can also be added. Promote the better growth of soil roots, the fertile soil has no rotten roots, and the water retention and moisturizing effect is good.

Keep the original soil. In order to ensure the normal growth of camellia after replacing flowerpots, more than one-fifth of the original soil should be retained when replacing flowerpots, especially the soil around the roots that cannot be removed. The more the original soil is preserved, the more favorable it is for the safe survival of camellia after replacing the flowerpot.

A few days before changing pots, please stop watering and keep the soil in the pots slightly dry. In this state, the flowerpot is easy to separate from the soil and fall out of the flowerpot.

Replace the washbasin. Grasp the main stem of camellia firmly with one hand, and pat the bottom of the flowerpot and the outside of the flowerpot wall with the other hand, which is the natural separation of camellia soil ball from the flowerpot.

Remove one-fifth of the outer soil to ensure that the roots are not destroyed. Put the camellia into the selected flowerpot, put 3 cm ceramsite as a protective layer at the bottom of the flowerpot, and then place it around the camellia. Good soil quality, compact by hand. Water it. You can add carbendazim to the water, saturate the soil with carbendazim solution, and put the flowerpot in a cool and ventilated place to slow down the growth of seedlings. The seedlings can be successfully delayed in about 2 weeks and can be maintained normally.

Fertilization is mainly based on phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Camellia has buds. In order to make camellia have more pregnant buds, we insist on applying phosphorus and potassium fertilizer every 15 days. It can be granular fertilizer. The shallow burying method is adopted, and the shallow burying depth is about 3 cm until the tea buds are completely open. Liquid fertilizer can be used and diluted with water, and the diluted solution can be used for spraying leaves and irrigating roots. But we must adhere to the principle of being thin, fat and hardworking.

Give enough light. When camellia buds, providing enough light can enhance photosynthesis, accumulate more nutrients and energy to bloom, and the later flowers will be more beautiful and richer. At present, autumn has begun and the weather is getting colder and colder. Suitable for the growth of camellia and the flowering of pregnant buds. Nanyang Terrace is an ideal protected area in a well-lit place indoors.

When camellia blossoms and forms buds, it needs more water. In this climate, it is necessary to provide enough water. You can't lack water, otherwise the leaves will wither and the buds will fall. The watering time is chosen at noon. Watering is not allowed in rainy days.

Increase air humidity. Especially in the north, the indoor air is relatively dry, so it is necessary to spray water frequently to keep the air humidity high, so that camellia can flourish, its leaves are green and full of vitality.
