Singer's Comments
Tang's music combines elements of Eastern and Western music, blends ethnicity with popularity, and creates her own singing style, which has influenced many famous singers of later generations. The airy voice is an important singing characteristic of Teresa Teng, based on which she developed a unique and detailed, subtly changing vibrato and a sobbing voice with individual characteristics.
She absorbed the biting process of Chinese folk songs and operas, which focuses on the process of characterization, returning to the rhyme and closing the voice, and excelled in using the techniques of leaning, bobbing and sliding to express the different rhythms of the songs, thus forming a singing style that is gentle, touching, refreshing, beautiful and smooth, and rich in national characteristics.
She grasps the tunes and rhythmic patterns of different songs, sculpts the timbre, contrasts the strength and weakness of the intensity, and puts in and out the feelings, etc. Teresa Teng strives to achieve excellence, and even if it is a small turn of phrase, she handles it with finesse and appropriateness.
