However, each person's timing is different, and life's destiny is not always favorable. It is easy for Feng Tang to grow old, and difficult for Li Guang to be crowned. It was not for lack of a wise ruler that Jia Yi suffered indignity and was relegated to Changsha, and was it not a time of political prosperity that Liang Hong fled to the Qilu seashore? It is only because a gentleman is contented with his poverty, and a man of understanding knows his own destiny. Though old in age, one's ambition should be more vigorous; how can one change one's mood when one's head is gray? Though his circumstances be hard, his temperance should be stronger, and he should never forsake his lofty ambition. Even if one drinks water from a greedy spring, one's mind remains fresh and clean; even if one is in a dry main rut, one's bosom remains cheerful and pleasant. Though the North Sea is very far away, it can still be reached by the whirlwind of the goat's horn, and though the morning has already passed, it is not too late to cherish the dusk. Meng Changjun's heart is high and pure, but in vain he embraces the passion to serve the country, Ruan Ji is indulgent and unrestrained, how can we learn his kind of poor cry!
I have a humble position, just a scholar. Though I am twenty-one years old, I have nowhere to go to ask for help to kill the enemy. I envy Zong Yi's heroic spirit of "riding the wind and breaking the grain", and I also have the ambition to join the military. Now I have abandoned my life's honor and fame, and have traveled thousands of miles to serve my father. Although I am not the "precious tree" of the Xie family, I am able to socialize with virtuous people. Soon I will meet my father and listen to his teachings. Today I am fortunate to accompany all the elders, and I am happy to ascend to the Dragon Gate. If I hadn't been introduced by someone like Yang Deyi, I would have only sighed to myself as I patted my own writing. Since I have already met Zhong Ziqi, what is there to be ashamed of in playing "Flowing Water"?
Heh! Famous places cannot always exist, and grand banquets are difficult to meet again. The Lanting banquet has become obsolete, and Shi Chong's Zi Ze has turned into ruins. Blessed with the gift of this banquet, let me make this preface on my way out, as for the ascent to the high end of the gift, which only count on the public here. I have only taken the liberty of making a short introduction, as I have done in my modest way. Du Shenyan
Only the eunuchs are surprised by the new weather.
The clouds and the sea are in the dawn, and the plums and the willows are in the spring.
The yellow bird is prompted by the gentle air, and the sunny light turns to green apples.
Suddenly I hear the ancient tune of the song, and I want to return to my home.
This is a poem of harmony. The original song is "Early Spring Excursion" composed by Mr. Lu Cheng of Jinling. In the Tang Dynasty, it belonged to the Biling County of Jiangnan East Road. Lu Cheng, a friend of the author, whose name is not known, was the county minister of Jinling at that time. Around the first year of Wu Zetian's Yongchang reign (689), Du Shenyan served in Jiangyin County, and Lu was a bureaucratic friend from a neighboring county in the same county. They traveled together and sang together, probably at that time. Lu's original song is no longer known. This poem is the same title of the original song, Du Shenyan expressed his own feelings and return to the eunuch's trip to Jiangnan.
After winning the bachelor's degree in the first year of the Tang Emperor Xianheng (670), the poet was disillusioned with his career and served as a county commissioner and a lieutenant and other minor officials. To the first year of Yongchang, he traveled nearly twenty years, poetry is very high, but still far away from Beijing and Luo, in Jiangyin, a small county as a small official, the mood is very unhappy. Jiangnan early spring weather, and friends together to visit the scenery, this is a pleasurable thing, but he was like Wang Chuan climbed the stairs, "although the letter of the beautiful but not my land," rather than go home. So this and the poem is written in a different way, surprised new and not fast, enjoy the heart and not happy, feel fresh and thoughts of bleak, beautiful scenery and the mood of light, and even sad, have a full belly in the words outside.
The poem begins with a lament, saying that only those who have left their hometowns and traveled for their careers will be surprised by the novelty of the climate in their hometowns. In other words, if you are in your hometown, or if you are a local, you are used to seeing it, but not surprised by it. In this "unique", "partial surprise" emphasis tone, vividly expressed the poet traveled to Jiangnan ambivalence: this beginning is quite chic, very personalized features.
The middle two couplets are written "surprised at the new". On the surface, these two lines write the beginning of spring in Jiangnan to the February of mid-spring climate change characteristics, showing the bright spring of Jiangnan, birds and flowers of the water town scenery; in fact, the poet is from the comparison of his hometown in the Central Plains to write the novelty of the exotic Jiangnan, in the Jiangnan mid-spring of the fresh scenery in the poets nostalgia for the twilight of the spring of the Central Plains of the feelings of the hometown, the sentences are surprised at the new and nostalgia for the countryside everywhere.
"Yunxia" sentence is written at the beginning of spring. In the concept of the ancients, the god of spring, east emperor, orientation in the east, the sun out of the east, spring from the east. But in the Central Plains, the beginning of spring weather is "the east wind thawing, stinging insects began to vibrate, the fish on the ice" ("Rituals - Moon Order"), the wind has been warm and the water is still cold. Jiangnan water town near the sea, spring wind and water are warm, and cloudy. So the poet prominently write the new spring in Jiangnan is with the sun from the east of the sea rises on earth, like the dawn reflected in the sky full of clouds.
"Plum and willow" sentence is written in the first month of early spring flowers and trees. The same plum and willow, the same early spring in the first month, in the north is the snow in the search for plums, a distant look at the color of the willow, the remnants of winter has not disappeared; and Jiangnan has been a colorful plum blossoms, willow leaves, spring, as the poet in the first month of the same year, the "big drink" in the description of the "plum blossoms fall where suspected of the remnants of the snow, the willow leaves open to the good wind." So this line says that when the plum and willow come across the river, Jiangnan will be completely in the spring when the flowers and trees are in full bloom.
Next, the spring birds. The "yellow bird" is the yellow warbler, also known as Canggeng. In February of mid-spring, "Canggeng singing" ("Rituals - Monthly Orders"), both north and south, but the yellow warbler in Jiangnan screamed more cheerfully. Lu Ji, a poet of the Western Jin Dynasty, said, "The grasses of the celandine are full of ladylike qi, and the birds of the season have many good sounds." ("Woe is me") "Shuji qi urges the yellow bird", is the use of Lu's poem, but with the word "urges", highlighting the spring birds in February in Jiangnan more joyful singing characteristics.
Then, write about the water and grass. "Green apples" are duckweed. In the Central Plains, the spring in March, "Ping began to grow" ("Rituals - Monthly Orders"); in Jiangnan, Liang Dynasty poet Jiang Yan said: "Jiangnan February spring, the east wind turns green apples." ("Wing beauty spring tour") This sentence says "clear light turns green apples", is the use of Jiang poetry, also implies that the Jiangnan February mid-spring weather, exactly the same as the Central Plains in March twilight spring, a whole month earlier.
In short, the new is strange because of the old, and the scenery is amazing because of the feelings. The new is due to nostalgia for the old, homesickness, the more foreign country novelty. These two lines are written in the eyes of the Jiangnan scene, but also contains the heart of nostalgia for the Central Plains hometown feelings, and the first line of the contradictory mood is consistent, but also naturally to the last line.
"Ancient tune" is a term of respect for the original song of Lu Cheng. The poet's use of the phrase "suddenly heard" to indicate an unexpected tone subtly shows that Lu Cheng's poem inadvertently touched the poet's heart with the pain of homesickness, and hence the tears of sadness. On the other hand, it is precisely because the poet was originally very homesick that he shed tears of sadness once triggered. This ending, not only points out the return of thoughts, but also points out the meaning of peace, the structure is rigorous and meticulous.
Previously, when people appreciate this poem, they tend to favor the first two couplets and skip the middle two couplets.
In fact, its conception is complete and original. The beginning and the end are certainly unique, but without the unique description of the scene in the middle two couplets, the whole poem would not be so full, coherent and interesting, but also not relevant. In this sense, the essence of the poem, precisely in the middle two lines.
1. "Marching from the army": the old Lefu title, belonging to the "Xianghe Song Dictionary-Pingtong Qu", mostly on the subject of military and war affairs.
2. Bee fire: an ancient signal for border defense alarm. From the border to the mainland, along the way to build high beacon, there is enemy on the stage fire warning, according to the urgency of the enemy, level by level to increase the number of beacon torch. Shining on Xijing: It means that the alarm beacon has already shone on Xijing (Chang'an), indicating the seriousness of the enemy situation.
3. Unevenness: it is difficult to be calm.
4. Tooth Jang (牙璋): a talisman for mobilizing troops. Two pieces are synthesized, the court and the commander-in-chief each holds half of it, and the embedded place is in the shape of teeth, hence the name. Here refers to the commander-in-chief ordered to go to war. Fengque: The palace built by Emperor Wu of Han Dynasty has a bronze phoenix on it, so it is called Fengque. Later, it was often used as a general term for the emperor's palace.
5. Iron Horsemen: elite cavalry, referring to the Tang army. The Dragon City: the city of the Xiongnu during the Han Dynasty. Longcheng: the place where the Xiongnu Assembly offered sacrifices to heaven during the Han Dynasty, the former site is on the east side of the Orkhon River in present-day Mongolia. Here it refers to the enemy fortress in general.
6. "Snow dark" sentence: the snow filled the army flag, making the pattern on the flag dark and colorless. The original meaning is that the grass and trees withered and faded, this refers to the loss of bright colors.
7. Centurion: a generalized reference to lower-level military officials.

Tang Gaozong Tailu, Yonglong years (679--681), Tubo, Turkic had repeatedly invaded the Gansu area, the Tang Ministry of Rites Pei Xingjian was ordered to go out to conquer. This is probably the meaning of "The Beacon Fire Shines on the Western Capital". The whole poem is about the process and feelings of the scholar's military service and the battle on the border, which expresses the sense of mission and the heroic feeling of building up a successful career when something happens to the country. The style of the poem is vigorous and impassioned. The poem is full of optimism and enterprising spirit, which is quite representative of the spirit of the literati and scholars in the early Tang Dynasty. Jiang Zhengshu, the author of Tang Poetry, said, "The three or four lines are solid but not clumsy, and the five or six lines are vague but not frivolous." Yang Jiong (650--693?) Hongnong Huayin (present-day Shaanxi Huayin County). He was a famous writer during the period of Emperor Gaozong and Empress Wu of the Tang Dynasty, and was one of the "Four Heroes" of the early Tang Dynasty. At the age of ten, he was a child prodigy and received his first degree, and was appointed to the scripture and literature hall. In the first three years of Emperor Gaozong's reign (676), he was appointed to the post of Secretary of the Ministry of Education and Culture of the People's Republic of China. He was the magistrate of Yingchuan (near Qu County in present-day Zhejiang Province), and died in his office at the age of forty. Yang Yingchuan ji (Collected Works of Yang Yingchuan) was originally thirty volumes, but today there are ten, with more than thirty poems, all in five lines. His accomplishments were mainly in the area of pentameter.
