Small Fish Mountain Scenic Spot
Small Fish Mountain Scenic Spot is the best place to enjoy the sunset in Qingdao. Although it's not very high in elevation, due to its location, there are no tall buildings around, so you can overlook the old town, Badaguan and many other places.
The entrance to the park is halfway up the hill, and you don't have to walk far to reach the top of the hill after entering the scenic area. There is a tower at the top of the hill called "Tide-watching Pavilion". As the name suggests, standing on the tower, the whole of Qingdao can be seen. You can see the waves of the First Sea Bathing Beach in the east and the tide of the Trestle Bridge in the west. It feels like all the other mountains are dwarfed by the sky.
The Tide Watch Pavilion locks its doors at 7:00, basically the time after the sun goes down. Don't miss it if you like photography. The breeze at the top of the mountain is very cool, but also a good place to exercise after dinner in the neighborhood, but here can not be considered a "square dance". I'm afraid it should be called "Pagoda Dance."
Olympic Sailing Center
As the host of the Beijing Olympics, the Olympic Sailing Center's scenery during the day is nothing to sneeze at. At night, it's still bustling.
The lights on both sides of the harbor are beautifully reflected with the torch sculpture in May 4th Square, the torch sculpture of the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the five rings of colored lights.
Qingdao Beer Street
If you don't drink beer in Qingdao, it's a wasted trip. You can't talk about Qingdao beer without mentioning Tsingtao Beer. The Tsingtao Beer Street outside the factory has become one of the busiest streets in Qingdao.
The street is filled with beer bars, beer-themed restaurants and more. The exact quality of the beer here can't be guaranteed, but it's really lively.
Chaichaiyuan
Along with Qingdao Beer Street, there is also the "Chesaiyuan".
There are a lot of people here, and the vendors at the hotels and restaurants on both sides of the street are trying their best to attract customers. There's the monk-esque soft-spoken approach, the high-tech super-volume loudspeakers, and others that are up-to-date with the times and full of Internet language.
But similar to every city's touristy snack streets, this place sells stuff you'd find almost anywhere in the country, and it's significantly more expensive compared to other places.
So treat this place as an attraction and feel the buzz. For authentic Qingdao food, why not try somewhere else?
The Trestle Bridge
The Trestle Bridge is the most representative place in Qingdao, and is always crowded during the day. At night, it's different from the daytime. Once the sun goes down, it's much quieter. It's not quite "sparsely populated", but at least it's a lot more relaxing without the heat of the sun and the crowds.
At night, the coastline on both sides of the bridge is lit up, and you can see Little Fish Hill and the Chao Pavilion in the distance.
Seaside Cafes
There are many cafes on the southwest coast of Qingdao Polar Ocean World. It is a pleasure to sit on the terrace at sunset and enjoy a cup of coffee while admiring the tranquil sea.
Qingdao Beer Festival
If you come to Qingdao to catch the beer festival, there is another good place to go in the evening. The World Square in Laoshan District is often used as a venue for the Qingdao Beer Festival. Even at 10 p.m., the place is still bustling with activity. The beer festival is huge, with all kinds of beers, ales and fun. Although the beer is slightly expensive, it's still nice to feel the atmosphere of the place.
There's a lot of hustle and bustle on a quiet night in Qingdao, and we all have different preferences. No matter what side of Qingdao you like, you can get it here! Come and visit Qingdao!
