After three years of preparation, three rounds of national casting, several months of high-density rehearsal and 32 popular first-round performances at the Shanghai Grand Theatre, "Mamma Mia! The China version 14 version of this classic musical finally kicked off in Beijing.

Vigorously display the China version of "zero defects"

As one of the most successful musicals in Broadway history, Mamma Mia! It has more than 45 million audiences all over the world, creating a box office myth as high as 654.38+0.5 billion RMB, which has flourished in various countries for 654.38+02 years. By praising and recognizing the most basic emotions such as love, affection and friendship, it has brought romance, joy and laughter to many cities in the world, and thus won the audience and the market.

As the first14th edition of this classic Broadway musical Mamma Mia! China's version has attracted attention at home and abroad, but it is also facing arduous challenges-not only to faithfully restore this world-class music masterpiece to the China stage, but also to strive for full marks in quality, localization and emotional communication, and truly show the international quality of China's version with "zero defects".

The first attempt started with the establishment of standards.

Mamma Mia! It is not the first musical that has been adapted into Chinese, but it is the first work that has been carefully and rigorously operated in full accordance with international musical industrialization standards. After three years of long negotiations, among many powerful competitors, caeg persuaded the British copyright owner with brilliant performance, comprehensive strength and industrial strategic thinking, and was allowed to become the sole owner of the Chinese version of the play in the global Chinese-speaking region. Since the signing of the copyright agreement, with the voices of various worries and doubts in the industry, Foreign Culture Group has joined hands with Shanghai Oriental Media Group and Seagate Group of South Korea to form Asia Lianchuang (Shanghai) Cultural Development Co., Ltd. ... At the beginning of its business, Asia Lianchuang launched Mamma Mia! The production and operation of China version, and take it as a sail to provide reform and innovation ideas for the strategic development of musical industry.

This is a deep cooperation between the East and the West in the field of performing arts, and it is also a process for us to learn from and communicate with mature music industry models in Europe and America. In this process, the Chinese production team learned the standard of "good" musicals. The 20 cm thick copyright contract puts forward various requirements from production to marketing, and gives clear standards. The details depend on the size of nails used in stage installation. With the standards, the biggest difficulty for China team to implement international standards for the first time is how to meet the standards to the letter.

Although many world-famous musicals have been introduced and staged in China, there are many problems to be solved in terms of equipment, technology, theater and so on in order to make a musical with international standards and perform it in the field for a long time. Asia Lianchuang introduced dance beauty from Australia, audio from South Korea, negotiated with the theater for difficult reconstruction, and hired senior technical experts specializing in musical production from Hong Kong and Taiwan to control the details.

Change the mode and perform 200 consecutive performances in China.

Someone counted it carefully in the performance, 135 minutes, 22 classic songs of ABBA choir, 45 moments of recognition, 28 unexpected laughs and 27 applause. Musical Mamma Mia! Every performance of China Edition made the audience stand up, cheer and applaud.

West End of London's highly specialized actor training mode has also opened a professional door for China musical actors. Mamma Mia! China Edition has trained the first batch of professional musical actors in China who have long-term performance opportunities (including two actors from Taipei who play their daughter Sophie and architect Sam respectively), and it is no longer a problem for them to perform in Beijing for 80 consecutive performances. Asia Lianchuang has drawn up a tour plan for Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, and will give 200 performances in China this year. Their goal is to be able to perform in first-tier cities in China all the year round.
