The liveliest part of Riverside Park is between the Chengbei Bridge and the Chengxi Bridge, where it was first built. At the entrance to the park there is a huge stone, like a cow crouching on the ground, written on it "Riverside Park" four big words. Around the boulder is a flower bed, and as the seasons change, the gardeners are replacing the flowers so that they bloom throughout the seasons. Behind the stone block there are six stone pillars arranged on both sides, stone pillars carved with many patterns. Walking inside, past the four round stone piers, you will see an oval-shaped fountain. In summer, the staff would turn on the water spraying faucet, and we kids loved to play here, even if we were splashed with water. Further inside is a square where many performances are held. North of the square to go up a few steps, there is a red stone monument, written in three big golden letters: "stop the water monument". I think this is people's good wishes: if there is a flood, I hope the flood will stop here. The west side of the monument is installed with a huge TV screen, in summer, people watch TV here while taking a cool ride. Further west, there is a large round platform, where many people dance every night, and some children skate and play on it.
Riverside Park is a paradise for children and a heaven for us to play. Every holiday, people go here to fly kites, skate, ride bicycles, play badminton ...... I am one of them.
