Is Out of My World an adaptation of a true story?

"Out of My World" is adapted from a true story, which took place during the strike of British coal miners in 1984.

Billy Eliot, a boy of 1 1, is the son of a coal miner. He lived with his father and brother in a small town in northern England since he was a child. He goes to boxing training classes every week.

One day, during the training class, he came into contact with ballet by chance, and this beautiful art immediately attracted him deeply. The boy also made Mrs Wilkinson, a strict ballet coach, shine. She found that Billy was a rare talented ballet dancer.

Mrs Wilkinson has a sharp mouth and always holds a cigarette in her hand, but when she saw Billy's rare dancing potential, she also took a keen interest in him. She even gave up other female ballet disciples and trained Billy wholeheartedly.

However, Billy never told his single father and bossy brother to learn ballet. The strike in the mine made them struggle to fill their stomachs.

When they finally found out that Billy had wasted his boxing tuition on unmanly ballet, a family conflict inevitably broke out. Billy's grandmother doesn't agree with him to study ballet either. So he can only find a little comfort from his good friend Michael, which further deepens their friendship.

At the same time, Mrs Wilkinson also actively encouraged Billy to apply for the Royal Ballet School in London, where she thought Billy could get better training and get rid of the great pressure from his family environment. Billy, on the other hand, was caught in the contradiction between the responsibility for his family and the realization of his ideal, but he finally chose the latter, because his love for ballet is irresistible, and ballet is his destination and his destiny.

Out of My World is not an inspirational film, but a film combining ideal and reality. Not only let you see the power of persistence, but also let you see the cruelty of reality. Billy represents a group of people who persist in their dreams, and Mr. Wilkinson represents people who have not realized but still love. The Billy family are all people who abandon their personal love for life.

Their life has its own difficulties and hardships, but this is life, with regrets and efforts, but the results are not satisfactory. In retrospect, you may regret one of your choices, but you can also comfort yourself: life is really good now.
