Creative background
On September 15, 1950, Wang Xin went from Tianjin to Beijing to buy musical instruments. It was the eve of the National Day, and the newly renovated Tiananmen Square was particularly magnificent. When he passed by Tiananmen Square, he was attracted by the square shrouded in golden sunset. Looking up, I saw a bright red national flag flying high in the glow, which made my heart surge with excitement and passion.
The 32-year-old Wang Xin was suddenly inspired and blurted out the first four lines of the song: "The five-star red flag is fluttering in the wind, and the victory song is so loud. Sing our dear motherland, and we will become prosperous and strong from now on. . ”
Wang Xin boarded the train back to Tianjin, her thoughts were flowing. She was humming and writing while keeping time, and the lyrics and music score came out almost at the same time. When she got home, Wang Xin and her wife Wang Huifen, who is good at singing, hummed at the same time and wrote the second and third lyrics in one breath overnight.
In this way, a majestic, passionate and bold new song "Singing the Motherland" was born.
