The ceremony officially started with the majestic March of the Volunteers. After reading the veterans' discharge order, accompanied by a loud password of "salute to the military flag" from the host, all veterans raised their right hands uniformly, with a strict police appearance and solemn expression, and then paid a most standard and sacred military salute to the military flag.
Article 15 of the Internal Affairs Ordinance of the China People's Liberation Army stipulates: "Before soldiers retire from active service, soldiers usually hold a farewell ceremony to the military flag collectively; Officers can hold a farewell ceremony to the military flag. Holding a farewell ceremony to the military flag is usually carried out together with the announcement of the retirement order. The basic requirements and procedures refer to the provisions of Articles 13 and 14 of this Decree.
I swear: I will always be loyal to the Party, keep in mind the purpose of our army, obey the needs of the motherland, obey the organizational arrangements, cherish the history of being a soldier, be worthy of the title of soldier, carry forward the fine traditions, keep the true colors of soldiers, keep the secrets of the army, strictly abide by policies and regulations, promote social harmony, always listen to the call of the Party and the people, never fade after retiring from the army, never change jobs, honor the flag, win glory for the army, and make new achievements in building new posts in the motherland.
