Wang Kun (1925 - November 21, 2014)

Born in Tang County, Hebei Province, Wang Kun was an opera performer. He was a member of the Fifth, Sixth, Seventh and Eighth National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Wang Kun was the winner of China's first Golden Record Award in 1989, and was honored as an advanced worker in the national cultural system in the 1990s.In 1982, he became the director of the Artistic Committee of the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe and the head of the Oriental Song and Dance Troupe. He was awarded the Gold Medal by the State and the "Star of Excellence" Medal by the President of Pakistan.Wang Kun died at 13:46 on November 21, 2014, at the age of 89 years old.
