The following are some of the famous tourist attractions in Cambodia:
The Angkor Temples
The huge and well-preserved Angkorian ruins are considered to be representative of the Angkorian group of sites.
Beng Mealea
Beng Mealea is a small Angkorian temple whose name means "lotus pond". Located 40 kilometers east of the Angkor complex, Beng Mealea is a Hindu temple, but some of its sculptures reflect Buddhist themes. The original material used to build this temple was sandstone, so much of the architecture has been destroyed and is very difficult to restore. When you arrive at Bengmere, you'll realize that it looks much like it did when foreign explorers discovered Angkor: the temple is badly crumbled, hidden by trees, and there's no way out. Without a guide, you have no idea how to navigate your way through these massive ruins. Those who have seen the movie "Tomb Raider" must still have an impression of the Temple of Tabu Cage, which gives people a sense of wonder, while Bumiputra brings people more shock. As you go deeper into the scenic area where Bengmilei is located, you will also find the trestle road. This trestle is also related to a movie, it was built during the filming of the movie "Tiger Brothers and Tiger Brothers".
Queen's Palace
Queen's Palace, which means "woman's castle", is famous for its bright colors and exquisite reliefs, which are said to have been built and sculpted by women. The Queen's Palace, one of the "Three Great Temples of Cambodia", was built in 967 by Rajendravarman II and completed in 1002 by Jayavarman V. The temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to the King of Cambodia. This Hindu temple is dedicated to Shiva, one of the three great gods of Brahmanism. Unlike other Angkorian monuments, which are made of green sandstone, the Queen's Palace is made of red sandstone, which is extremely colorful and conducive to the carving of intricate and delicate patterns.
Tabukkan Temple
Tabukkan Temple was built in 1186, is the ancient Angkor king dedicated to his mother's temple, the architectural style is the same as the Bayon Temple, Angkor Wat is very mysterious aura of attractions. The entire temple is surrounded by dense trees, entangled for thousands of years, like the scene of a fierce battle between the gods and nature. With its unique and romantic atmosphere, both "The Fancy Pants" and "Tomb Raider" have chosen this place as a filming location, so you can also trace a light and shadow memory when you visit here. It is recommended that you enter through the east gate and exit through the west gate, so that you can see the "Dancer's Gallery" with its reliefs of nymphs.
Bayon Temple
Bayon Temple is located in the center of Angkor Thom, with a 160-meter-long east-west corridor and a 140-meter-long north-south corridor. The corridors were originally covered with wooden roofs, but due to the age of the temple, only the remains of the broken walls and the huge pillars remain. It is worth mentioning that the walls of the temple are still rich in vivid carvings, such as accounts of ancient wars, the lives of ordinary people, and the scenery of Tonle Sap Lake, all of which fully reveal the scene of the time, and are definitely precious historical sites that must not be missed. The vivid murals seem to tell a distant story. The famous Khmer Smile is located on the top floor of the Bayon temple, ****54 pagodas, each pagoda has four sides, each side has a different expression, a ****216 different Khmer smile.
